> Free IP lookup API: your public IP, geolocation, ISP/ASN and proxy, VPN, Tor and hosting detection with a 0-100 risk score. No sign-up, no API key. CORS enabled.

## APIs
- [Simple API OpenAPI spec](https://checkip.me/openapi.json): flat JSON and plain text. `GET https://checkip.me/{ip}`, `GET https://checkip.me/json` (your IP), `GET https://checkip.me/{ip}/{field}` (one field as text).
- [Full API OpenAPI spec](https://api.checkip.me/openapi.json): nested JSON with every field, including VPN operator details, attack history, detection history and device estimates. `GET https://api.checkip.me/{ip}`, `GET https://api.checkip.me/whoami`.

## Limits
- Your own IP: unlimited. Other IPs: 120 lookups per hour per client, shared by both hostnames. HTTP 429 with Retry-After when over.
- Errors: 404 invalid IP, 422 private/reserved IP, 502 data source unavailable. Results are cached up to 30 days.
